The appropriately named
Washwater - located at a waterworks SW of Newbury on the edge of
Great Pen Wood.
You can see that the top guys are electrically connected to the top of the mast with isolators about a quarter of the way down to form a capacitance "top hat". This increases the capacitance with the ground and makes the aerial perform as if it were taller. |
There are two other broadcast sites in Newbury, The BBC FM site and the ILR FM site.
